Esta é a terceira e última parte do relato da minha experiência no processo de recrutamento da Emirates. Se ainda não leste as outras duas publicações aproveita agora:
- 1 - Open Day
- 2 - Assessment Day
My Final Interview was scheduled to September 20th, at 12.00 pm, so by 11.30 am sharp I was already at the hotel. I was finally called at 12.20 pm, so I’ve waited for almost an hour. I think I don’t need to tell you how much nervous I was.
I entered the room and handed the recruiter all my papers (you’ll see a full detailed list at the end of this post), I told her that I was very nervous and she was really nice and told me to drink a glass of water first. Afterwards she started asking me questions about my work experience, my responsibilities as a radiology technician, why I wanted to work for Emirates and why should they hire me, so far so good. Then she asked me to think about specific situations, problems that I had with colleagues or with costumers and at this moment I simply collapsed, couldn’t put myself together, I wasn’t able to even think in portuguese and my english became a complete mess. As I was aware that I was mixing verbs, tried to correct myself at the same time and it got even worse. I remember I was saying all the time “I don’t remember the english word for that.”, basically all hell broke loose inside my head. I don’t know if I screwed up with all this mess but I’m trying to stay positive and think that she wasn’t there to evaluate my english as she already did that in the Assessment Day.
That was it, the end of Emirates recruitment process, I’ve made it this far! Every year over 200.000 persons apply to this job and being part of the lucky 8.000 that are indeed interviewed made me feel really blessed, no matter what happens next I feel like this whole experience was a complete sucess since I wasn’t even expecting get through the CV drop.
- Final Interview Checklist
- Complete Online Psychometrics Test – An online survey to evaluate your mental profile and predisposition towards the job;

- Colored Passport Photocopy x2, if you don’t have a passport you’ll need a photocopy of government issued ID;
- Formal Full Length Photo, Passport Size Photo x8 and Casual Photos x2 – Later I will make a post about Emirates recommended guidelines regarding this photos;
- Updated CV – If you handed a updated one on the Open Day, there is no need to hand another;
- Photocopy of Educational Certificates;
- Apply Online – You need to apply for the job online, you should do this prior to attending an Open Day in order to have your Applicant Reference to give the recruiter at the time;
- If you are currently employed in UAE you’ll also be asked to provide a visa copy and a colored copy of UAE ID (both sides).
The first three are mandatory prior to Final Interview, if you don’t have the next requirements ready, you can email them in the next 7 days.
Nunca desistam dos vossos sonhos e sejam felizes, no matter what ;)
Quanto a mim, apesar de estar satisfeito com a minha carreira profissional atual não descarto uma nova aplicação junto da Emirates, até porque penso que se cheguei tão longe é porque satisfaço os critérios que eles procuram.
